4th Degree

Congratulations to Greg Rhineheimer (and his wife) for organizing and orchestrating a beautiful procession of the holy eucharist in Nicholasville. 

The St. Luke parish and council #10263 hosted a wonderful mass followed by a eucharistic procession prior leading into their parish picnic. Assembly #3929’s Color Guard assisted with many #10263 Knights and families in attendance.

To my knowledge, this was the first Eucharistic procession in KY in the new fraternal year.   Thank you Fr. Aldrin Tayag for the invitation to participate as well as to all the Knights present at mass.  Way to go council #10263 and assembly #3929.

Assembly 2753 held its annual cookout for the Penny Royal Veterans Center (PVC) in Hopkinsville, KY. The PVC was in need of a new charcoal grill and a picnic table for its veteran tenants. We delivered a new grill, picnic table, several bags of charcoal and lighter fluid as well as several days of additional food.

We grilled burgers, hot dogs, and brats for 50 veterans on Sunday and donated 2 large trays of chili and one large tray of pulled pork for this week’s meals.

The Vets will eat well this week!

Assembly 2753 led the procession from Sts. Peter & Paul Church Narthex to nearby Peace Park in Hopkinsville KY, and back, where the Assembly and several parishioners and passersby prayed the Rosary, Divine Mercy Chaplet and sang hymns. The sun shined brightly on us all on this beautiful October day.

September 17 is ‘Constitution Day’ to celebrate this most important day in our Constitutional Republic, Assembly 2753, in Hopkinsville, KY invited the 8th graders at Sts. Peter & Paul School to a presentation about the Constitution of the United States.  KY State Senator James Comer was unable to attend in person, so he sent a recorded message to the students. KY State Representative Walker Thomas spoke about the power and importance of the constitution and along with members of the 4th degree Assembly handed out American flags, books explaining and detailing the Constitution and the American flag.  The students seemed to enjoy the education and the officials and 4th-degree knights and begun an observance that will now be an annual event. God Bless the USA!

Assembly 2753, in Hopkinsville Ky., participated in support of the annual “Sew for 22” ceremony held at “Beyond Stitches” and conducted by the Clarksville TN Quilts of Valor. The “Sew for 22” event is designed to raise suicide awareness throughout our Veteran ranks. September is Suicide Awareness month. The group sews for 22 consecutive hours and then awards Quilts of Valor to help the healing process to our warriors. The Sir Knights provided chairs and tables and helped Mission BBQ with the catered lunch. We also provided the guest speaker Ret. Lt. Col SK John Hall. The weather cooperated so the day went off without a hitch. God Bless our veterans and our troops!

At the 4th degree exemplification held in Louisville on August 28th, over 30 men joined the ranks of the 4th Degree of the Order of the Knights of Columbus. We were honored to have Archbishop Kurtz as the Keynote speaker at the banquet. He also celebrated the 4:00 pm Mass at St. Michael Catholic Church where the new Sir Knights and their Ladies were in attendance. Congratulations to our newest Sir Knights.
