On December 2nd, The Breckinridge County Educational Association For the Handicapped (BCEAH) was presented a check in the amount of over $2,100 by Grand Knight, Pat O’Rielly. These monies are used to assist in programs designed to provide a positive impact for mentally-challenged adults at the local workshop. The center serves approximately 35-40 clients daily. Without contributions and servitude exemplified by groups like the Knights of Columbus, many of the activities and infrastructure to support these activities would not exist.
Knights of Columbus is a Catholic-based Fraternal Organization engaged in charity. They do several fundraisers throughout the year to help others in Breckinridge County. BCEAH is thankful for their support. Knights of Columbus is making an impact on the lives of the clients of BCEAH.
District Deputy Jim Wharton presented the Star Council award to PGK Sam Meffert Council 15452 Newman Center Council at their business meeting.
Below is a photo of the Knights of Columbus delivering two checks for $20,169.30 each (a total of $40,338.60) to the New Hope Center. These funds will be used to purchase a new Ultrasound machine, which should be here in 3 or 4 weeks! The Knights are working to schedule a blessing ceremony with the Bishop.
This project was spearheaded by Bishop Ackerman Council, with Mulloy Council, MQH Council, St. Timothy Council, and Bishop Flaget Assembly participating.
