Mass of recognition and renewal
In response to the request by our Supreme Knight and Supreme Chaplain to openly recognize the Church abuse tragedies and help the Church move forward with renewal, Mt. Mercy Council 14604 in Pewee Valley held a special mass on the evening of January 4th. The mass, sponsored and organized by the council, was intended to bring this message to the entire parish. Our pastor, Reverend John Stoltz and all 4 of our active deacons vested. Our Worthy State Deputy Cameron Peck and our sponsored seminarian, Michael Shultz, were our honored guests.
The readings and homily drove the message of recognition of the failures in the past and that through His Divine Intercession, our Church will renew. Immediately after the mass, our parish 24-hour adoration for the protection of children and family continued.
