Prayer service for persecuted Christians
Mary Queen of the Holy Rosary Council #14372 held a Prayer service for persecuted Christians on April 23, 2019. It was a wonderful service with good attendance including State Deputy Cameron Peck and District Deputy Jim Wharton. After the service, the Icon was placed in the gathering area to be displayed for a week.

Running for a great cause
A famous Chinese proverb goes, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.”. For Father Michael Tobin running in the Boston Marathon itself was only the first step. Father Tobin decided he would try to raise $10,000 to pay for heart surgeries for 2 children with Downs Syndrome. Approximately half of the children born with Downs Syndrome have a heart defect. Heart surgery to correct the defect is recommended and it must be done before five or six months of age in order to prevent lung damage. Being touched by the difficulty faced by families in his Parish who have children with Downs Syndrome, Father Tobin put his faith into action. Surprisingly Father Tobin met his goal rather quickly and decided to increase his goal to $15,000. When that goal was surpassed, he raised his goal to $25,000. As you’ve probably already guessed, Father Tobin is now working on a goal of $40,000, thus helping 8 children to live longer, healthier lives. To that end, we are pleased to announce that our own Kentucky Association for Persons with Intellectual Disabilities (KAPID) has given Father Tobin $1,000 to help reach his goal. We urge all Knights to please keep Father Tobin in your prayers. While his journey is not a thousand miles, we want his final step at the Boston Marathon Finish Line to be as momentous as the first.
