Together, NKY councils worked together to raise over $25,000 (which became $50,000 when matched) to purchase a new Ultrasound machine for CARENET in Florence, KY.  CARE NET opened a brand new facility to care for mothers and their families in NKY.

The effort was organized by council 14993, with contributions from Councils 5453 and 15211 as well as Assembly 307.

Bishop Mulloy K of C Council 1301 recently participated in The Holy Name Men’s Society Eucharistic Procession in Over the Rhine section of downtown Cincinnati.  The event started off with an opening Mass at St. Peter in Chains Cathedral with Archbishop Dennis Schnurr as presider.  Next the crowd of approximately 500 men and boys accompanied the Eucharist, parading through the streets of Over the Rhine praying the rosary and singing religious hymns. Benediction was offered at two makeshift alters on the streets along the way. The two mile procession ended at Old St. Mary Church in Over the Rhine. After the service was over, coffee and doughnuts were offered in the court yard. It was truly an inspirational event. It was awesome! Submitted by:Deacon Bill Theis

Today marks 102 years from the day that Mary appeared to the children of Fatima. The parish ladies organization, Hands of Mary, and members of Council 11470 joined together to publicly recite the Rosary along with additional prayers provided by America Needs Fatima. I was happy to organize the event with Barbara Stripplehoff and look forward to the next one. In total there were 27 participants. Fr. Linh lead the procession and members of the group alternated reciting the decades in English & Spanish. Immaculate Mary was sung between each decade and the group, lead by Father Linh, chanted the Litany of the Blessed Virgin Mary. We concluded by repeating the Divine Praises after Father and singing O Sanctissima.

Today’s event is exactly what the Faith In Action initiative is all about. Members of the Knights of Columbus joining with our pastor and parishioners in publicly professing our Catholic Faith.

McGee Assembly 309 based in Bardstown.

The Dedication of a new baptismal font by Bishop Medley was one of the highlights of the anniversary mass.   7 choirs participated also participated in the celebration and Mass.

District Deputy #23, Mike Rinehart presented this year’s state pin to Pro-Life Governor Matt Bevin on behalf of State Deputy Cameron Peck at the NKY Pro-Life Conference held on 9/29/2019.

The St Vincent DePaul Store in Owensboro, KY was vandalized in July, when unknown individuals shot out all the windows that line the front of the store. The St Vincent DePaul society was hard pressed to find the money to repair the damage and put out a plea for donations to help. During a regular monthly meeting of the St. Joe & Paul council a member asked me if the council could help the DePaul Society.  Being a new council they were unsure of what they were able to do. As District Deputy, I explained they could make a donation to the DePaul Society and that if they would consider doing so I would go to my other councils and ask them to also help by making a donation. I am proud to say that all four of my councils responded with a donation, councils 6101 (Sorgho), 10725 (Precious Blood), 14290 (Lourdes), & 17247 (St Joe & Paul) each council pledged $300.00 and on August 19^th checks totaling $1200.00 where delivered to the St Vincent DePaul Store. Pictured are Nancy Harris member of the DePaul Society & Edward Sullivan District Deputy for the four Knights of Columbus councils. They are pictured in front of the new windows of the store. Nancy said the donation from the Knights help put them over the top paying for the repairs. Ed said the councils were excited that they had they ability to help another Catholic origination that does a great deal for those in need in the Owensboro area.
