On June 14th, 2020, Council 6743’s business meeting, GK James Clemons presented the council with a beautiful sign for their pavilion. It was a gift from GK James Clemons and Brother Knight Allan Peerce. A wonderful, heart-warming, kind-of-a-gift. It read “Robby Higdon Pavilion”. To make things even better, Robby’s dad, Brother Marty Higdon, attended the meeting unaware of the unveiling. Robby continues to stir emotions with the mention of his name.
Special Olympics Salute to Summer Games Fundraising
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Special Olympics of Kentucky is unable to hold the Summer Games for the Special Olympics athletes this year. On June 5th at 6:30 pm (EDT), SOKY will be posting a video presentation that they hope will capture everything that makes Summer Games weekend so special. They will post it to their Facebook page and on their YouTube channel.
SOKY has a campaign running named 2020 Salute to Summer Games running until June 5th and Kentucky’s Knights want to continue our strong tradition of helping Special Olympics in this time of need. Below are two tables showing how our knights’ councils are doing their part to help. Thank you all for carrying on the strong partnership with Special Olympics.
On May 20th, State Deputy Cameron Peck challenged all the councils in Kentucky to donate 50 cents per council member to Special Olympics during this campaign. Thanks to the councils listed below for doing their part.

2020 State Convention Audio Recording
In case you did not get to participate in the 2020 Kentucky State Convention phone call, you may listen to the audio recording below.
Leave No Neighbor Behind Food Drive
Leave No Neighbor Behind food drive held by Bishop Ackerman Council 5453 on 5/16 in Burlington, KY. Four truckloads of food were collected for Rose Garden Mission in Covington. The Youth Group of Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish also with the food collection. The Rose Garden Mission provides food for 200 families each day who are in need.
2020 State of the Jurisdiction Address
Due to the phone call format that we used for the state convention this year, I opted to post the 2020 State of the Jurisdiction Address online rather than deliver it during the call. The address is below.

2020 State Convention information
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Supreme Council has mandated that all jurisdictions conduct their 2020 state conventions virtually in the form of a phone call rather than a traditional in-person gathering. This protects the health of our members and their families and I agree with the decision 100%. Our convention will take place on May 17, 2020, at 9am Eastern Time. Due to limitations, the only people that will be on the live call will be delegates, state officers, district deputies, and past state deputies. Everyone else will be able to listen to a recording of the call within a few days.
Because of the new audio-only format, physical handouts won’t be possible. So, I have included materials below that are concerning the business we will conduct on May 17th. This information is for all to see, but if you are a delegate, please make sure to review it before the call on May 17th. The first document below is the Annual Report. This is a list of the business during the last year. This also includes the minutes from last year’s state convention. At the end of that document are copies of the resolutions that will be considered during the state convention call.
The second document below is the Convention Book aka the Ad Book. Because most of the ads had already been received before the convention became a virtual convention, we proceeded with the creation of the book as usual. All councils and/or people that placed (and paid for) an ad in this year’s book will receive a credit for an equal-sized ad in next year’s book at no charge.
The third document below is the Special Rules of Order for 2020 State Council Virtual Meetings. This was provided by the Supreme Council.
