Councils must conduct and report at least four major programs in each of the Service Program categories: Faith, Family, Community, and Life.
A council must conduct each of the following programs to be eligible to receive the Columbian Award. The four categories and the required program for each are as follows:
Faith- Spiritual Reflection
Family- Consecration to the Holy Family
Community- Helping Hands
Life- Novena for Life
