On July 16, 1816, the cornerstone was laid for the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral in Bardstown, KY. This past weekend the Knight of Columbus were there to help celebrate the 200th anniversary of this important event!
Participating clergy included:
- Most Rev. Joseph Kurtz (Archbishop of Louisville)
- Most Rev. Jim Massa (Titular Bishop of Bardstown / Aux. Bishop of Brooklyn)
- Most Rev. Daniel Thomas (Bishop of Toledo / Former Titular Bishop of Bardstown)
- Most Rev. Charles Thompson (Bishop of Evansville / Former Associate Pastor of St. Joseph Cathedral)
It is an honor to be in an area of such rich Catholic History in the USA. Thank you to our Brother Knights who were on hand to participate. Here is a photo of a portion of the Honor Guard.
