Bishop Soenneker Council 10725 received an award from the Diocese of Owensboro, the award was for Charitable Works in the Diocese, only 5 such awards were given out for the entire Diocese and our council was one of the winners. I have attached a picture of the award, I have also attached pictures of some of the activities that helped us win that award. Picture 2 is from members of the council doing a fish fry for St Stephens Cathedral during lent, picture 3 awarding money to Puzzle Pieces an Owensboro origination that works with the mentally challenged of the area. We also put up Billboards for life at Precious Blood Catholic Church and St Martins Catholic Church in the Owensboro area.
Texas Hold’em
Council 13917 St. Leo in Versailles holds a Texas Hold’em to raise funds for the parish.
John Paul II school project
Tom Musser presented a check for $1850.00 to Rayma Dayberry. This represents the 2nd quarter net profit for the new John Paul II school project. To date Council #1367, Uniontown, has donated $6650.00 to this worthy project. During the summer months the Uniontown Volunteer Fire Department will be their designated charity.
Ordinary Time

We have now transitioned from the Easter Season to Pentecost and now into what is called Ordinary Time in the Church calendar. Now, the word “ordinary” in popular usage is used to describe things that are nondescript or dull, ordinary rather means customary, regular, and orderly. As well, “Ordinary Time” may also be called Ordinal Time, which means numbered time. Ordinal comes from the Latin “ordinalis,” which is a word meaning “showing order, denoting an order of succession.”
