Council #14130 in Lexington collected donations of care packages (sewing kits, wipes, soap, deodorant, dental care items, etc.) exceeding $9600 value; Total count was 7232 toiletry-type items were collected and distributed to Women’s Hope Center, Men’s Hope center, and Catholic Action center during December and January. Over 500 pairs of socks – matched, unmatched, new / old … but all clean, were collected in January and taken to Catholic Action Center.

Hardy, Timothy “The Colonel”, 63, died from a gunshot wound on Sunday, February 14, 2016 during a flat tire change on his car.
He was born to Charles and Doloris Schagene on January 20, 1953 from the Portland area. At an early age, he was adopted and lovingly raised by Edward and Florine Hardy, who have preceded him in death.
Timothy was a courageous defender and leader. He proudly served in the U.S. Army for over 34 years. He attempted a bid for the U.S. Congress in 1990. He served as President of the school board at St. Rita Catholic Church and the parish council at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Currently, he was the Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus, McKune Council
Tim enjoyed his children and the child in each of us. He looked forward to bringing joy at Christmas time along with his little elf. He leaves his family and friends a legacy of not being afraid to speak out and defend the freedoms of this great U.S.A.
Tim will be sadly missed but will always be in our hearts through the memories of great vacations, family time and service to others.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Janet Schickel Hardy; children, Mark Edward Hardy (Lindsey), Lisa Marie Puckett (Dusty), Michael Lee Hardy and Patrick Joseph Hardy; his precious grandchildren, Kaylei Marie and Riley Joan Puckett; Also survived by his mother, Doloris Frasemer; sisters, Cindy Hagan, Susan Rivers (Rodney) and Starr Lehner; and brothers, Donnie Schagene, Mark Lehner (Barbara) and Virgil Lehner.
The Mass of Christian burial will be held 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, 7335 Southside Dr. with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation noon – 8 p.m. Thursday at Joseph E. Ratterman & Son, 7336 Southside Dr.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to OLMC Church, McKune Council 14471, St. Jude Research Hospital or your favorite charity that serves the needs of others.
