Christ the King Council 16232 Annual Turkey Fry
One of the greatest joys of being a Knight is the feeling of brotherhood with those in your council as well as with Knights around the world. This is never more apparent than when Council 16232 gets together for their annual turkey fry on Thanksgiving morning. The cool brisk air at 5am definitely wakes us up as we prepare the fry pots for the Thanksgiving centerpiece for those families that allow us to prepare their turkeys for them. This year we cooked 23 turkeys, 1 ham, and 1 goose and even fried a Boston butt (we will fry anything in the south). Of course, the first turkey to come out is the sample turkey for all in attendance, and it was delicious, as usual. Twelve brothers showed up to help and enjoy fellowship with each other to start the holiday and we were able to raise over $350 which will be used to purchase and fill stockings for each of the children on the Angel Trees at Christ the King Church in Scottsville and St. Mary’s Church in Franklin.

The Fourth Degree Faithful Navigator, Bobbie Robinson, led the recitation of the Patriotic Rosary on September 8th at the Grayson County EMS office in Leitchfield. The group was finishing the second decade and through the eloquent words of the Hail Mary; emergency pager tones sounded from the EMS worker’s radios. Their help was urgently needed, “Dispatch, MED 3 is in route.” A stark reminder, to those gathered, that their help was also needed, in the form of prayer for those who responded to the call and those on the scene waiting for the EMS arrival. All were quickly added to the Patriotic Rosaries intentions. The Patriotic Rosary is a powerful prayer for divine protection and mercy for our Nation, our government leaders at all levels, and all who risk their live’s for our protection.
